Hi, I’m Courtney Rutledge,
the heart and hands behind Sense of Southern,
a vintage western boutique born out of my deep love for all things country, western, and timelessly vintage. Growing up surrounded by the rugged beauty and charm of the southern lifestyle, I found myself drawn to the unique character and history of country, western and vintage treasures. This passion inspired me to create a space where others could find pieces that embody that same spirit. Unlike the fast-fashion pieces found in stores today, these vintage items are built to last, reflecting a time when quality and craftsmanship were valued above all else. I started this journey over half a year ago, and it has already been an incredible experience filled with fascinating stories and inspiring people. Every item in my collection is handpicked not just for its beauty, but for the stories it carries—stories of a simpler time. Sense of Southern is my way of preserving those stories and sharing the rich heritage and soul of Southern culture with you.

02. My Man
BRADY & I STARTED DATING AT THE END OF 2023 & HAVE BEEN INSEPARABLE EVER SINCE. NEVER IN MY LIFE DID I THINK I WOULD END UP WITH SOMEONE FROM MY HOMETOWN, BUT NEVER SAY NEVER! HE IS AN ANSWERED PRAYER & I THaNK GOD EVERYDAY FOR HIM.
04. My Friends
I know better than to add pictures of all of my friends, because I would INEVITABLY leave one out, but i have friends all over etx. i don’t get to see them as often as i’d like (because life), but we always have a good time whenever we do get the chance tO HANGOUT!
06. Good Food
I’m DEFINITELY a foodie, There’s not much food i don’t like. Everyone always laughs at how i eat, because i love variety & my eyes tend to be much bigger than my appetite… i know a buffet hates to see me coming. lol

I COME FROM A BIG FAMILY, WITH 4 SIBLINGS, AND OF COURSE I’M THE MIDDLE CHILD. I ALSO HAVE A NIECE & 2 NEPHEWS. “AUNT COCO” IS MY MOST FAVORITE TITLE.
05. The Outdoors
i’m a lover of pretty much all things outdoors, unless i’m cold. I think we are meant to spend a lot more time outside than we do in today’s world, so i try to get outside as much as i can. whether it’s while drinking my morning coffee, or activities like hunting, fishing, or riding the sxs around, I’m down for it all!
My Favorite Verses
Proverbs 31: 10-31
God defines what makes a virtuous woman in these verses. I have been drawn to these verses since I first heard them as a little girl in GMA, Girl’s Missionary Auxiliary. I’m not perfect & I may not always follow them, but I try my best to be as close to a Proverbs 31 woman as I can be.
